We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Director of Research and Development (R&D) to lead our R&D team in the dairy manufacturing industry.
The ideal candidate will drive product innovation, oversee the development of new products, improve existing products, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Leadership :
- Develop and implement the R&D strategy in line with the company's vision and goals.
- Lead a team of scientists, engineers, and product developers in research and product development projects.
- Identify new trends, technologies, and opportunities within the dairy industry to drive innovation and growth.
Product Development :
- Oversee the development of new dairy products, from concept through to production, ensuring they meet customer expectations and market demands.
- Improve existing product formulations for better quality, taste, nutrition, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and production teams to ensure successful product launches.
Project Management :
- Manage multiple R&D projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Allocate resources effectively and manage the project pipeline to prioritize high-impact initiatives.
- Implement best practices for project management, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all R&D activities.
Quality Assurance and Compliance :
- Ensure all products comply with regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.) and industry standards for safety and quality.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any product quality issues.
- Keep abreast of changes in food safety regulations and ensure the R&D team is informed and prepared to adapt.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement :
- Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging the team to explore new ideas, technologies, and methodologies.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to bring cutting-edge solutions to the organization.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership :
- Work closely with the operations, marketing, procurement, and sales teams to align R&D initiatives with business goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including suppliers, research institutions, and industry associations.
- Present R&D updates and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Dairy Science, or a related field. Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in R&D within the food or dairy industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successful product development and innovation in the dairy sector.
- In-depth knowledge of dairy processing technologies, ingredients, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and drive results.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with product development for specialty dairy products (e.g., lactose-free, plant-based, organic).
- Knowledge of sustainability practices in food production.
- Familiarity with sensory analysis and consumer testing methodologies.
