DESCRIPTION :
Our HR Manager is a culture ambassador for our team members and a servant leader and coach for our leaders. They combine the desire to authentically care for others with their human resources technical knowledge.
Skills required include being a skilled recruiter who is unafraid to step out of the norm to find top-talent, being a collaborator and business partner assisting leaders to be better leaders and identifying any / all compliance issues and offering effective solutions.
While corporate experience is a plus, we really hope to welcome an adaptable, fun and collaborative HR leader onto our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing Human Resources in a hotel, restaurant and / or private club as well as experience that involved interacting with a full range of employees (hourly to leaders).
Inspiring culture is one of the most critical roles for this position. In addition, this position will require a large emphasis on creating strategies to help attract and retain talent that supports our goal of being one of the best employers in LA.
Job Duties :
- Serving as the first point of contact for routine associate inquiries
- Training and development lead
- Communicating and coordinating HR programs such as performance review process, team member opinion surveys, and open enrollment with Operations leaders to ensure first-class experience for team members
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local ordinances as required
- Performing general administrative tasks for the HR Office
- Participate in the planning and promotion of associate engagement activities
- Foster a work environment where associates are given the opportunity to contribute to their full potential with cross training and development
- Assist with ensuring that internal communication is in alignment with company culture and guiding principles
- Assist in instilling confidence and trust with leaders helping them grow as servant leaders and foster psychological safety with ongoing micro-learnings
- Maintaining recruitment and onboarding procedures
- Payroll and benefits assistance
- Ensuring positive coaching opportunities to motivate, recognize and correct unwanted behavior
REQUIREMENTS :
- 3-5 years experience within human resources, preferably in a generalistor manager position
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations
- Ability to consistently display courtesy, etiquette, warmth and enthusiasm on the phone and in person
- Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in a professional manner
- Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues
- Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing skills
- Ability to handle complex issues encountered using knowledge acquired through training and experience
- Demonstrated ability to gain the trust and confidence of managers and employees and influence the organization
- Ability to diagnose organizational issues and implement creative solutions
- Analytical skills with demonstrated ability to translate data to insight and then into action
- Ability to research and analyze various different types of data information
- Strong computer skills
- Multiple language abilities preferred. Fluency in English required and Spanish desired
