Peaks' current focus is renewable natural gas (RNG) and clean hydrogen development from agricultural waste, landfills, food waste, while assessing other technologies that can help us move closer to a low-carbon future.

We have an exciting opportunity open for a Senior Financial Analyst with the ability to work remote from any of the following states : AR, OK, MO, ME, TX, SC, TN, KS, FL, NY, NJ, or LA.

POSITION SUMMARY :

This position will play a pivotal role in supporting Business Development (greenfield projects and M&A) at Peaks Renewables HoldCo, LLC ( Peaks ).

Reporting directly to the Manager of Finance, this position will be primarily responsible for conducting financial analysis and valuation for potential mergers, acquisitions, and new project opportunities.

Key responsibilities include screening potential investments, building detailed feasibility models, and developing commercial proposals.

The role will also involve supporting project economics across the company’s portfolio assets and contributing to upfront project feasibility analysis and due diligence efforts.

While the focus is on valuation and business development, the position will also support forecasting, budgeting, and reporting (FP&A) activities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and valuation modeling for new investments, including developing sensitivities for various development scenarios and outcomes.
  • Screen and evaluate the feasibility of new M&A and project opportunities, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and objectives.
  • Develop and refine commercial proposals, working closely with internal teams to structure deals that maximize value and mitigate risk.
  • Assist with due diligence processes for acquisitions, including financial assessments and coordination of internal approval processes.
  • Design, develop, and implement methods and strategies to enhance financial models and streamline processes.
  • Facilitate the coordination of Peaks’ annual budget process and quarterly reforecasts for all growth capital projects to ensure alignment with corporate objectives;

assist with the 5-year growth plan in collaboration with the business development team.

  • Support the preparation of presentations for the Risk Management Committee, regular corporate data reporting, C-team, and Board meetings.
  • Work closely with the Summit and Peaks teams to ensure timely and on-budget project development across both RNG and H2 projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in the fields of energy, business, finance, and economic theory to inform strategic decisions.
  • Execute ad-hoc financial analysis or reporting tasks in support of the company's financial objectives.
  • Represent Peaks and Summit Utilities in meetings, conferences, and other external engagements to foster relationships and explore business opportunities.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or Economics
  • Three years of finance or business analysis experience including the development of advanced integrated financial models
  • MSc in Accounting, CPA, CFA, or MBA with a Finance specialization is a plus
  • Energy / Utility industry experience is a plus
  • FP&A, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, or Consulting experience is a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES :

  • Strong competencies in corporate valuation techniques, financial due diligence, financial modeling, business development, budget analysis, financial reporting, forecasting, and commercial agreements.
  • Ability to conduct and interpret quantitative / qualitative analysis with a proven ability to communicate complex financial concepts and data in an understandable manner to all levels of management and staff.
  • Demonstrated success in consulting effectively with all levels of management, including executives, with the ability to influence others without direct authority to earn credibility and trust.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work streams and succeed across a diverse portfolio of projects and responsibilities.
  • A business partnering mentality with a high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and meticulous analytical capability.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adept at utilizing these tools for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects successfully while maintaining a calm, deadline-oriented approach.
