Senior Project Manager
A growing, reputable architectural wall manufacturer and installer has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Project Manager.
The steady growth of our company has created the need to hire someone who can step in and immediately run projects. The successful candidate will have strong leadership abilities, detail oriented for complete budget management, a passion for timeliness and excellence, and the ability to communicate to all levels in an organization.
This position reports to the COO.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Ability to assume total responsibility from receipt of the bank budget and signed contract through to completion and final payment.
- Lead by example and communicate expectations to your team that are consistent with upper-level management’s expectations.
- Coordinate with estimating, operations, and finance counterparts for a collaborative team a team environment.
- Actively participate in weekly meetings with the project management team to review ongoing progress for all projects. Discuss installation progress as compared to V-Plans, review improvement strategies, and overall manpower loading to ensure all projects are running as lean and efficiently as possible.
- Responsible for monitoring profitability of jobs. Problem solve low performance to schedule and develop a recovery plan with the team.
- Review implemented equipment loading plans with the project managers to ensure we are meeting the project needs while also striving to improve the projects’ budgets.
- Ensure that draftsmen are accurate in the representation of the contracted scope of work, and that all detailing follows UWSI best practices to ensure continuity and repeatability.
- Review strategies for material buy-outs to promote standard practices that focus on timely deliveries and improvement upon the estimated material costs wherever possible.
- Utilize Autodesk Cost to issue purchase orders to all vendors at the onset of each project to provide real-time visibility in project tracking.
- Participate in all pre-construction meetings with the project estimator, safety director to hand-off essential information to the project foremen and superintendent prior to mobilization.
- Ensure that strict safety standards are followed at all times.
Essential Qualifications :
- Minimum Four (4) years of experience as a Project Manager or Superintendent in commercial construction industry.
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree preferred.
- Experience in managing projects at or below budget.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage superintendents subcontractors, craftsman and vendors.
- Verifiable success at forecasting material, equipment, and manpower needs.
- Self-Motivated with the desire to function independently.
- A passion for quality, timely work within budgeted guidelines.
