This position is responsible for processing mariner payroll which falls under union guidelines and requires knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.
- Process bi-weekly union payroll.
- Collect, compile and enter payroll data.
- Processing payroll by established deadlines.
- Reconcile employee deductions.
- Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors.
- Create Union benefit and garnishment payment support.
- Process unemployment claims.
- Prepare overtime billing schedules from payrolls processed.
- Research of stale dated payroll checks.
- File payroll department records.
- Other payroll related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Knowledge of ADP and experiencing using ADP for payroll processing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics accounting software a plus.
- Knowledge of NSE payroll a plus.
- AA accounting degree or accounting Certificate required & BS in accounting preferred.
- Must have strong attention to detail and be able to multi-task.
- Ability to ensure accuracy of payroll.
- Be able to maintain confidential payroll information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan and organize.
- Experience collecting, analyzing and organizing data.
- Solid data entry skills.
- Ability to work with other members of the company as a team.
