This role will partner with other Capital One designers, product managers, and tech experts across multiple lines of business to design exceptional GenAI-powered experiences while also developing GenA-powered experience design best practices.

What You’ll Do : As a leader and maker, you’ll be asked to handle responsibilities, including : Strategy & PlanningCollaborating with a variety technology, product, and business teams across lines of business to uncover customer and business needs for GenAI-powered experiences then translating them into intuitive and engaging digital experiencesTranslating complex ideas into understandable concepts that evolve and enhance product experiences Engaging in portfolio prioritization to help set the strategy and product road map for the teamManaging through shifting priorities to provide clear direction and input on product prioritization and support early product definition Advocating for the customer through human-centered design methods, including : discovery, research sketch sessions, and user testingChampioning prioritization of design centered product enhancements grounded in research and analysis Working with partners and teams across various geographiesEmbracing and advocating for an experience mindsetDiscovering & DeliveringDeveloping and evangelizing Design for GenAI best practices, principles, and patterns that all designers across Capital One can leverageDemonstrating familiarity with designing for GenAI-powered experiences and design tools to deliver concepts and enable successful collaboration across teams Supporting early product definition by working with partners to facilitate discovery sessions that uncover customer pain points and opportunities Driving end-to-end product design by : Working with researchers to understand customer needs and define opportunities through usability and empathy studies Framing problems, defining insights, and designing new methodologies / practices to serve customer needsCreating process and user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and interaction models, resulting in low to high fidelity prototypesPlanning and facilitating workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align with business needsDesigning within existing and creating new standards to contribute to our internal design system, best practices, and guidelinesStorytelling and presenting visual concepts to various stakeholdersCreating high fidelity design assets for acceptance, development, and delivery to market in partnership with technology colleaguesBasic QualificationsAt least 5 years of experience with User Experience designExperience designing and implementing GenAI-powered experiencesExperience designing and implementing chat experiencesPreferred QualificationsExperience developing design principles and best practicesExperience evaluating GenAI-powered experiencesExperience with responsible AI best practices Experience designing for cross channel experiencesComfortable working with a variety of business partners and delivering outcomesFamiliarity with design and prototyping tools, such as Sketch and / or FigmaFamiliarity with working in an established design systemExperience managing a cross-functional teamAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.New York City (Hybrid On-Site) : $199,100 - $227,200 for Sr.

Manager, DesignSan Francisco and San Jose, California (Hybrid On-Site) : $210,900 - $240,700 for Sr. Manager, DesignCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI).
