Spherion Staffing & Recruiting is seeking an On-Site Operations Manager to lead and oversee print and mail operations for our long-term managed services client, a relationship that has spanned over 20 years.

This strategic role is crucial for ensuring the highest quality and efficiency in all facility production activities.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive production experience, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in hiring and training production staff.

We are looking for someone with strong strategic thinking abilities and a creative, open-minded approach to problem-solving.

In this position, you will work hand-in-hand with senior leadership at our client and on our internal team while overseeing a motivated & tenured production team.

This position is based on-site in northeast Madison. It is a first-shift role, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility required to address issues that may arise across all three shifts.

Salary will be discussed during the interview process.

Responsibilities :

  • Inspire and guide the team to uphold production and quality standards while fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Oversee hiring, training, terminations, and other HR functions, ensuring effective staff development and a supportive work culture
  • Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to drive process enhancements through clear communication, training, and guidance.
  • Analyze and address quality and waste issues to improve production efficiency and reduce operational costs
  • Report production results, productivity targets, and quality metrics to state management, ensuring transparency and alignment
  • Determine and adjust staffing levels to meet production goals and maintain productivity
  • Ensure compliance with SLAs and contract deadlines, meeting or exceeding performance expectations
  • Resolve issues and develop solutions through regular meetings with our client, maintaining strong relationships and addressing concerns promptly
  • Provide regular feedback through annual reviews and ongoing management to support staff development and performance
  • Implement production tracking systems to establish and monitor accountability protocols
  • Be available on-call to address and resolve staff and production issues as they arise
  • Promote and embody the organization's core values in all aspects of the role

Qualifications :

  • 8 to 10 years of production and management experience
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new processes to drive positive results
  • Proven experience in hiring and training production employees effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of implementing innovative solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle conflicts diplomatically
  • Willingness to work across all three shifts as needed
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
