A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A DEALER DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

The primary purpose of this position is to be an advocate for Cyprus Credit Union by creating, building and maintaining relationships with dealerships.

This position will help develop and increase new business for the Indirect Lending loans and accounts. This position at times may work with other department business development officers.

This position will require a person that is charismatic, confident and maintains a positive attitude as they work with local dealers and businesses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Assists the Indirect Lending Manager in developing short- and long-term goals and plans for Indirect Lending Departments.

This Representative will be required to purpose ideas on keeping up or increasing volumes within the departments and suggest possible promotions or products that can improve our lending portfolio.

Provides suggestions and recommendations as needed based on these items.

Assist the Indirect Lending Manager in developing policies and procedures for the Indirect Lending Department. Makes recommendations and is up to date on competitors in the marketplace.

Help in creating a strategic plan of who to target and when.

  • Ensures that corporate wide objectives and goals are complemented and supported.
  • Tracks the progress of Dealer visit and maintain follow-up deadlines.
  • Independently plan and prioritize your daily work schedule.
  • Helps resolve questions, requests and complaints from these Networking relations.
  • Must communicate well with Credit Union staff and Management team and be professional in doing so. Management will be informed if there are any areas of significant concerns.
  • Professional dress and communication are required.
  • Ensures that personnel within the departments are well trained, and effective in helping build these Networking relationships.
  • Assist, supports and serves personnel as needed.
  • Help in creating a strategic plan of who to target and when.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining good business relations and reputation is maintained with both internally and externally contacts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective dealership and stakeholders to further the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Utilize data and analytics to assess the effectiveness of dealer development strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare reports and updates for management on the status of dealer development efforts.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required.
  • Provide detailed reports to management on area activities and significant problems.
  • Must be honest in all business dealings and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure and well maintained.
  • Stays informed regarding developments and changes in the industry.
  • Assists with promotional events and possibly community events, which may require additional hours.
  • Completes special projects as assigned
  • Participate in local schools / colleges to talk about our Student Lon Program

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

  • Position requires a semi-annual and year-end evaluation to review goals met and to monitor the effectiveness of the position.
  • Monthly / Quarterly / Yearly goals are set for this position.
  • Good working relationship with internal staff, members and businesses we deal directly with including new potential clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Additional college is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license must be maintained.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • At least 3-5 years of combined Indirect Lending and / or Industry experience is preferred. Business Development experience required.
  • This position requires a highly motivated person with personal and professional goals continually being met and / or exceeded

SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Requires strong
  • leadership and good project management abilities. Must be well organized and be able to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent public relation skills and public speaking required.
  • Must be able to operate related computer applications, and business equipment

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A DEALER DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

This full-time position offers a shift of : Monday-Friday from 9 : 00 AM - 6 : 00 PM Additional hours outside this schedule could be required for events.
