REMOTE, ON-SITE OR HYBRID (PORTLAND- METRO AREA)

Work Hours - flexible to align with remote location normal business hours, except that at least twice a week must be available between 3-5 pm Pacific to meet with offshore personnel.

During initial training period, additional flexibility may be required.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Billing Manager has responsibility for our revenue cycle, ensuring accuracy in our client billing and financial reporting through auditing timesheets and draft invoices, invoicing timely, and reconciling revenue by client, location and service line.

This role will own revenue reconciliation and all related reconciliations and analyses as well as other key areas of the revenue cycle, including unbilled revenue / missed revenue opportunities.

The role requires a self-starter that can efficiently and effectively perform a task and self-check for accuracy. The Billing Manager will direct and oversee the work of 1-3 Billing Specialists.

WHAT WILL YOU DO AS A BILLING MANAGER?

  • Oversee the daily invoicing for all product lines, service lines, and locations in accordance with the underling Master Services Agreements (MSAs) and related Statements of Work / Schedules.
  • Audits timesheets for coding errors and provides immediate feedback to the applicable employee and his or her direct supervisor for all issues discovered.
  • Performs root cause analysis for invoicing errors and provides respectful, fact-based, and immediate feedback to individual responsible.
  • Works with appropriate personnel to identify, correct, and audit ConnectWise (ERP system) configuration issues.
  • Works with appropriate personnel to identify, develop, and audit other automation opportunities
  • Prepare and analyze various monthly revenue reports and trend analysis by client, location, business team, and product / service line.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy in a timely manner
  • Prepare other balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses including, but not limited to deferred revenue and COGS reconciliations, and product revenue and cost of sales margin analyses.
  • Create and maintain working papers for all areas of focus in a well organized and audit-ready manner.
  • Function as backup as required for other finance team members
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE A SUCCESSFUL BILLING MANAGER?

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-10 years professional experience in an Accounting role
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities

WOULD BE NICE IF YOU HAD

  • Experience with NetSuite or other comparable ERP
  • Experience with ConnectWise
  • Experience managing people or processes

WHAT IS THE WORK ENVIRONMENT LIKE?

Normal office working conditions. Work requires regular sitting / standing at a desk and working with a computer. This position requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands, seeing, reaching, talking, writing, and hearing;

it may require occasionally carrying or lifting equipment if working on-site.

  • The position may require hours that exceed normal working hours per day during peak periods; on-call or travel work may include nights or weekends.
  • The position requires regular contact with others - in meetings, by phone or by email. Interactions focus on data collection, problem-solving, needs analysis and technical training development.

Interactions are initiated in person or electronically.
