Zolman Tire, Inc. Seeking Retail General Service Technicains - Mishawaka, South Bend, Niles, and Granger, IN.

Locally owned and operated, Zolman Tire, Inc. has serviced the automotive, light truck and commercial repair, tire, and wheel needs of customers throughout the Mishawaka, IN area since 1978.

Over the years we have expanded into six locations in Mishawaka, IN, Granger, IN, South Bend, IN, and Niles, MI.

We are seeking qualified tire technicians for our South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger, and Niles locations who value safety and teamwork.

Hours requirements are 7 : 45AM-5 : 00PM M-F, with willingness to work overtime as needed. If you are enthusiastic about the commercial tire and repair industry, reliable, and have a positive attitude please apply!

Essential Functions :

For tires (functions performed per TIA Commercial guidelines) : Remove, install, rotate, balance, and perform flat repairs on commercial and large equipment tires (in shop or at customer location)

Safely separate and reassemble tires onto wheels, using specialized equipment, inspecting casings for defects

Locate and seal tire punctures (patch and plug)

Prepare rims and wheel drums for reassembly by scraping, grinding or sanding.

For retreads : Prepare retreads (read and accurately interpret the work order, put product in staging area, load on truck), unload retreads (unload from truck and stack in warehouse area)

For vehicles : Inspect vehicles using inspection forms and report potential repairs to supervisor, perform basic maintenance and repair as directed

Equipment : Raise and lower vehicles safely, with hydraulic or floor jacks and proper use of jack stands

Safely operate all shop machinery, including but not limited to : safety cage, spreader, balancer, floor jacks or lifts, air powered tools, torque wrench and / or torque sticks

Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment

Read work orders thoroughly and perform all listed tasks

Perform general housekeeping duties

Physical Demands :

Frequently lift / carry / move 50-100 lbs.

Standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Experience :

No prior experience necessary, willing to train the right candidate

Certifications / Licenses :

Valid driver's license; driving record must meet company's insurance requirements

TIA 200 Level commercial required before working (company can provide)

Ongoing training is required per company's standards
