Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Management :
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for EMR implementation.
- Coordinate with IT, clinical, and administrative teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Operational Workflow Optimization :
- Analyze existing operational workflows and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with clinical staff to understand their needs and integrate EMR functionalities that enhance workflow efficiency.
- Develop and document optimized workflows and ensure they are communicated effectively to all stakeholders.
- Innovation and Modernization :
- Champion the use of innovative solutions to improve healthcare delivery and operational efficiency.
- Leverage Modernizing Medicine’s EMR capabilities to modernize current practices while building a strong relationship with practice administrators, physicians and staff.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies and AI to incorporate into the EMR system.
- Stakeholder Collaboration :
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team, IT, and healthcare staff.
- Facilitate regular meetings and updates with stakeholders to track progress and address concerns.
- Ensure all project requirements are met and stakeholders are kept informed of project status.
- Training and Support :
- Develop comprehensive training programs for staff on the new EMR system.
- Coordinate training sessions and ensure all users are proficient in using the system and aware of any new platform updated and release notes.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for any issues that arise post-implementation.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance :
- Working closely with USOP compliance department, ensure the EMR system implementation complies with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular quality assurance checks to ensure system functionality and data integrity.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance, ensure USOP standards are applied and optimize system use.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years focused on EMR implementation in a healthcare setting.
- Experience with Modernizing Medicine or similar EMR systems is highly desirable.
- PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent experience or certification is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills :
- Proficient in Modernizing Medicine, Epic, Athena or similar EMR with a knowledge of healthcare IT infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operational workflows and processes.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA) and work directly with USOP security and privacy officer.
