Primary Purpose of this Job
The primary purpose of this job is to support the Quality Manager System and perform 1st piece, in-process, final, and source inspections as required by work instructions.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned)
- Works independently within established procedures
- Works from operation / process sheets, blueprints, engineering drawings and other specific procedures
- Performs inspections as required, utilizing conventional layout inspection techniques and equipment
- Mounts or installs tools, attachments, fixtures or work pieces on CMM; operates CMM equipment to perform measurement, inspection and testing of production materials and components using previously prepared inspection programs
- Strong understanding of PC-DMIS / Calypso; can program CMM involving complex geometry and GD&T
- Sets up and operates CMMs to perform inspection
- Supports receiving, in-process and final inspection
- Creates, completes and compiles necessary documentation related to Quality Inspection as per OEM and ISO / AS standards
- Regular uses Syteline, PC-DMIS and MS Office
- Contributes to continual improvement and supports 5S initiatives
- Generates suggestions for improving work; develops innovative approaches and ideas
- Supports other Quality Department functions as needed.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years related quality inspection experience
- Minimum of 3 years CMM programming experience
- Experience writing CMM programs for aerospace parts
- Experience with Pratt and Sikorsky parts
- Strong understanding of PC-DMIS / Calypso
- Can program CMM involving complex geometry and GD&T
- Experience utilizing measuring tools
- Aerospace experience.
