GAI Consultants has a career-building opportunity for an Engineer 3 within our Power Business Unit’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Business Sector.
GAI is an established and growing multi-discipline engineering firm with Florida offices in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Palm Beach Gardens.

This position is eligible for GAI’s flexible hybrid workplace place and a sign-on bonus. This position can be based out of any of the GAI’s Florida offices.
GAI’s Power Business Unit focuses on developing and supporting Energy, Institutional, Industrial, and Manufacturing clients.
Job Duties :
Plans, designs, and facilitates civil engineer project design tasks such as site grading and drainage design; access road design;
erosion and sediment pollution control design; stormwater management design; report preparation; and permitting.
- Performs technical and feasibility studies.
- Collaborates with other professionals and discusses requirements with team members.
- Uses computer programs to develop detailed designs.
- Ensures that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
- Performs work with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Handles complex issues and refers only the most complex issues to more experienced staff.
- Possesses strong working knowledge of civil engineering design tasks and a positive attitude.
- Possesses strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and analysis modules.
- Performs moderate to complex civil design tasks while delegating more routine tasks to staff with less experience.
- Mentor, guide and check the work of less experienced staff.
- Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills are required.
- Adhere to the safety and quality procedures of GAI and our clients.
- Travel to other offices / meet with clients / attend project-specific meetings.

Technical Responsibilities
- Assign tasks to other technical and non-technical staff. Predominantly plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work.
- Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
- Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or projects.
Management Responsibility
- Receives supervision and guidance relating to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
- Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments.
- Mentor direct reports and other engineers.
- Demonstrates professional attitudes relevant to the practice of engineering, including creativity, curiosity, flexibility, and dependability.
