About This Role :
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Laboratory Administrator.
The primary duties of this position will be as a supervisor in the Mailroom and Sample accessioning area of the Rabies Laboratory.
This essential position within KSVDL exists to serve the needs of both the clientele of and testing teams in the Rabies Laboratory in regard to overseeing package intake into the laboratory, accessioning, and sample referrals.
This position will oversee all serology submissions and may also be involved in special projects dealing with client-oriented tasks pertaining to samples and process improvements.
This position will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory in the mailroom and accessioning area. Some flexibility may be required regarding work hours at selected / occasional times.

What You’ll Need to Succeed :
Minimum Qualifications :
Requires a bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor degree in Biology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or related study at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Competent computer skills including word processing, databases, spreadsheets and data entry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills needed to work as a team member CL1 .
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organization, and troubleshooting / critical thinking skills.
- Greater than 2 years of management and supervisory experience.
- General experience with computer databases and experience using LIMS systems.
- Use of a computer to enter / generate data in LIMS and Microsoft Office Software.
- Knowledge of clinical specimens / testing and medical data bases as documented in the application materials.
- Experience or education in a health-related or animal science field.
- Knowledge of CLIA requirements.
