The Sr. Manager will lead a team of Portfolio & Sourcing Managers on the Device Portfolio & Sourcing Team, focused on vision, conceptualization, design, product roadmap, at times commercial results, innovation, and improvement of a key product portfolio.

Own and drive strategic sourcing initiatives to deliver a compelling, stable and balanced portfolio. Lead and support cross-functional sourcing groups, ensure supplier performance, and help drive T-Mobile’s strategic direction with certain categories of spend.

Lead efficient RFP (Request for Proposals) processes, including sourcing plan management, supplier issue tracking / resolution, project status communication and risk assessment.

The Sr Manager will develop cost savings and strategic sourcing projects while ensuring business continuity and high level of supplier performance.

Run spend, supplier, and market data to effectively analyze both savings opportunity and value chain impacts. Lead all levels of supplier market RFP activities, including execution, readouts and business case implications.

Meet with potential participants, both incumbents and non-incumbents, answer RFP related questions from suppliers, analyze RFP results and support final supplier awards.

The Senior Manager must support as well as lead sourcing events, including ongoing supplier sourcing and portfolio contingency planning.

Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with Line of Business leaders to deeply understand LOB priorities and deliver opportunities that will drive growth.

Forming relationships and delivering results the right way is crucial. We set high standards in delivering complex products through multi-brand processes.

Issues surface frequently across sourcing and opposing business priorities, so creative problem solving is critical which is done well through strong business partnerships and a thorough understanding of the business.

Candidate must also possess polished presentation skills designed for senior leadership to discuss launch strategies, performance issues and recommendations.

Responsibilities :

Lead a team responsible for handling ongoing mobile device RFP processes across all connected device categories (phones, tablet, watch, IoT, Home, etc.

Guide / Influence internal partners to gain alignment on new device selections. Document and share lessons learned with sourcing team to influence future ranging decisions.

Coordinates activities / communication between internal teams and vendors.

  • Define the portfolio strategy across all connected devices and work with leadership to define competitive sourcing strategies, work with the strategy & analytics team lead to establish data research, analysis, and reporting structures to support strategic commercial initiatives.
  • Drive cross-functional alignments with various teams including Engineering, Business Assurance, Financial Operations and Accounting teams to understand current product experiences, identifies areas of opportunity and prioritize feature development.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key partners, internally and externally. Early engagement on product ranging to establish optimal execution requirements to support LOB financial goals / business casing.

Lead internal alignment meetings with various business partners on new product RFP opportunities

  • Maintain product roadmaps and publish internal roadmaps by line of business. Lead as needed device roadshows for new devices sources or new opportunities under evaluation
  • Develops change management and regularly cascades Vision, Strategy to set goals with corporate priorities from executives to direct reports.

Create repeatable processes to ensure products are sourced in a timely manner

  • Collaborate with vendor and business partners to generate compelling product opportunities. Participate in vendor roadmap discussions regarding products.
  • Ensure all activities comply with T-Mobile policies and procedures. Assists direct reports with ongoing prioritization and resource allocation to ensure scope and outcomes are delivered.

Collaborates and contributes to creation of development plans for each direct report and creates leadership opportunities for direct reports.

Provides regular, timely coaching lateral (peer) and upward feedback. Cultivate culture in team to enable regular, timely, constructive upward feedback.

Also responsible for other Duties / Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Qualifications :

  • 10+ years in telecommunications, consumer electronics or related industry
  • 10+ years wireless carrier sourcing management, supply chain experience and skills
  • Experience working with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Care and Retail
  • Experience in delivering large and complex business / technology initiatives.
  • Shown ability to communicate with Leadership effectively, while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences including executives and non-technical leaders.
  • Strong ability to think creatively and problem solve
  • Strong relationship builder that can simultaneously inspire partners
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Written and verbal communication skill with diverse groups
  • Advanced Microsoft skills (specifically Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Professional verbal and written presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify / analyze / synthesize product use data.
  • Skilled at influencing and interacting with executive management and cross functional teams
  • Well organized with the ability to smoothly handle challenging conversations under stressful timelines
  • Strong understanding of product / financial metrics and terminology
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, statistics, or related field or equivalent experience required
  • Master's / Advanced Degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age

Base Pay Range : $140,500 - $253,500Corporate Bonus Target : 20%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role.

Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and / or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
