Under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for supporting the HR department in aligning business objectives to best serve the employees and the organization.
The position formulates partnerships across the HR function and will produce deliverables that provide value to management and employees.
The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the organization, best practices for HR and internal procedures and policies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
Manages employee relations and performance processes. Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of HR and legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Oversees FMLA / Leave, Workers Compensation programs and ensures compliance with reporting. Designated HR subject matter expert for new training and development programs for new policies, annual training, and any updates.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Manages introductory and annual performance review process and assists in annual compensation projects.
Assists international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters. Provides support and guidance on business unit restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning.
Serve as lead within HR department in the absence of HR Manager. Performs other related duties as assigned. BASIC KNOWLEDGE : Excellent verbal and written communication skills across multiple organizational levels Interpersonal and customer service skills which include the ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding and the ability to de-escalate and handle challenging situations.
Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies to fit departmental, organizational and industry needs.
Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
Expert time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel or related software.
Experience with HRIS systems, timekeeping systems, benefits systems, and compensation management software. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE : Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience which includes resolving complex employee relations issues.
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
Bachelor’s degree with HR related discipline preferred. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or PHR or SPHR required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
