Position Details :

  • Title : Service Engineer (Mechanical)
  • Location : East Coast territory (candidate can live anywhere from NY to FL and will travel the eastern US)
  • Shift : Mon Fri 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm
  • Travel : Heavy travel role. This role is responsible for the East Coast territory from Maine to Florida. Travel will be roughly 90% overnight (all travel expenses are covered by the company)
  • Compensation : $30-$35 / hour + OT
  • Benefits : Medical, Dental, Vision insurance, 401(k) with match, PTO, paid holidays, and much more!Position Description : Under limited supervision, independently carry out maintenance, repairs, and some diagnosis on marine propulsion equipment with limited technical support with the aim of minimizing equipment downtime to ensure customer satisfaction.

Hold responsibility for ensuring that specific maintenance programs are professionally administered on a day-to-day basis through on-site liaison with the customer and maintaining technical service records upon completion.

  • Clean, inspect, and evaluate the parts need for repair / replacement, carrying out repair work on well- defined problems, with some assistance from technical support.
  • Verify dimensions and clearances to ensure conforming to specification.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to QA / QC standards.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams and technical order to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
  • Inspect, analyze, and record calibration results and produce Service and Technical Reports.y
  • Ensure that all work is done in accordance with applicable legal and Company procedures
  • Create an appropriate customer contact log and issues monitor which will form the basis of an ongoing customer / contract management plan.
  • Advise customers on other products and pursue upgrade opportunities on vessels of work.
  • Provide receipts and details of costs to enable accurate customers invoicing.
  • Knowledge share and support the on-the-job development of Service Technicians where appropriate.Requirements :
  • Active duty military experience with mechanical propulsion equipment (Navy Nuke MMs, Navy GSMs, conventional MMs)
  • Good understanding and knowledge of a range of products, systems, their functionality and applications, gained through experience working in a technician role
  • Strong verbal communication and written reporting skills in English.
  • Basic IT skills and some commercial awareness.
