Maintenance Technician B - (II)

Transdev in Lakewood, Washington is seeking an experienced B-Level Automotive Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment.

As an Automotive Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Competitive salary of $27.15-31.25 based on experience.

• Vacation : 80 hours per year, accrued for monthly.
• Sick : (1) one hour accrued for every 40 hours worked

• $0.25 / hr stipend for each active ASE certification.

Key Responsibilities :

Repair and maintain a fleet of gas-powered Ford cutaway type ADA vehicles along with all support vehicles. This includes the removal and replacement of engine, transmission, differential and other vehicle components.

Inspects and tests equipment at prescribed intervals of time and usage or upon malfunction or breakdown.

• Inspects, tests and aligns bus lights and maintain electrical systems and controls
• Balance and rotate wheels to minimize wear on tires at prescribed mileage intervals
• Perform mechanical repairs including the repair of engines, brakes, suspension, drivetrain and other required repairs.

Disassembles, inspects, and replaces worn or broken parts. Fits and adjusts new or repaired parts.

Completes preventative maintenance and safety inspections at company prescribed intervals. Test drive repaired equipment and perform road calls as needed.

Other duties as required .

Qualifications :

3-5 years of automotive repair experience or equivalent education and experience.

ASE certifications required ; ASE certification program provided

Mechanic’s Tool Set

Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason

Physical Requirements :

• Exposed to and subject to maintenance shop and environment working conditions on a regular basis.
• Must be able to work in a crouched position or on back beneath motor vehicle equipment subjected to dust, dirt and greasy conditions.
• Must be able to lift over 50lbs frequently
• Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.

Must be able to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

• Must be able to comply with all FTA and company standards as applicable current drug and alcohol regulations
• Must meet current DOT medical certification requirements
