Conlan Tire is an emerging, privately owned truck tire retreading and re-manufacturing operation that specializes in tire maintenance practices, casing management, warranty claims, fuel testing, alignments, sales, tire retreading, tire repair, production and quality control.

So what does the Director of Fleet and Equipment Maintenance do?

• The Director of Fleet & Equipment Maintenance will be responsible for the effectiveness of the company’s field maintenance, including the ongoing development, rollout and oversight of the maintenance processes and standards of all DOT and Non-DOD qualified vehicles and trailers.
• Identify and evaluate trends on any significant equipment breakdowns and develop preventative maintenance programs for tractors, trailers, box trucks, utility trucks, boom trucks, and other vehicles leased or owned by Conlan Tire.
• Oversee compliance in maintaining stock, which includes maintenance parts, supplies, and tire inventories. Instructs mechanics and drivers in goal achievements, staff productivity and compliance audits.
• Continuous improvement for company equipment downtimes and preventative maintenance standards.
• Develop, implement, and manage warranty programs.
• Monitor hiring, training, and development of shop staff.
• Establishing training programs for maintenance and enforcing company standards.
• Streamlining maintenance practices company wide.
• Working hand and hand with leadership in operations to meet company objectives.
• Enforce & practice all company safety procedures to ensure a safe environment by following all D.O.T. and OSHA safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience overseeing a maintenance team in a fast paced, high stress environment.
• 5 10 years of maintenance leadership experience managing multiple shops throughout various markets.
• A college degree is highly preferred, particularly in business management, operations management, diesel technology, mechanical engineering or a related field.
• A working mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, bulker trailers, gravel trains, and heavy equipment in satisfactory compliance with DOT laws and regulations.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• A commitment to team concepts, ownership, and an outgoing personality.
• Experience and understanding of working within a budget.
• Strong knowledge of Class 8 tractor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

• Knowledge of WINDOWS (basic applications), Microsoft Office Suite, and TransMan maintenance system.
• Working knowledge of Class 8 truck and trailer repair.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.

Working Conditions :

• Able to work extended hours as needed 55+ hours during the peak season.
• Must wear PPE while working on company equipment.
