Tasks of Position

The following are core and essential responsibilities of this position. Associates are responsible for completing any and all duties assigned as required for the successful operation of our business.

All associates are required to perform their job duties in a manner which upholds the integrity and honesty of our company.

• Reporting for assigned shifts on time, and on a regular basis, capable of communicating clearly and demonstrating suitable physical abilities to safely perform assigned tasks and duties, prepared to provide excellent service.
• Promoting sales and exceptional service through active discussions with guests.
• Understanding and capable of performing the following :
• Provide prompt, efficient and friendly Guest service Operate computerized cash register and credit card scanner inside fuel station booth, ringing and totaling all merchandise.
• Receive payment for Guest purchases.
• Maintain cash drawer, including being accountable for all cash, coupons, checks, and receipts in the drawer.
• Receive gas delivery from our fuel distributor / tanker truck.
• Perform safety inspection of tanks and pumps once per day, checking gaskets, locks, etc.
• Receive and check in delivered merchandise and place in appropriate storage area.
• Change out Point of Sales materials (pump toppers, snap lock signs etc., as needed / directed).
• Perform Daily Operations Audits, as applicable.
• Perform Daily Inventory Counts, as applicable.
• Replenish displays and shelves as needed.
• Fill outside towel holders, and replenish or refresh window washer fluid.
• Service, clean and supply public restrooms; refill towel and soap dispensers.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with cleaning agents.
• Gather and empty trash; clean & scrub trash cans and replace liners.
• Clean building floor by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming around equipment.
• Clean fuel or oil spills from parking area using absorbent material.
• Using a This One’s On Us cards to Make Our Guests Crazy About Us!
• Mentoring new associates or associates who are new to the department or task and assuring a positive learning environment.
• Communicating and completing guests’ special order requests with accuracy and timeliness.
• Finding a way to make our guests happy.
• Ensuring all work performed in the department is completed in accordance with all local, state, federal and company rules, regulations, and policies regarding workplace safety, food handling safety, and guest services.
• Participating actively in the store’s accident reduction plan including : cleaning floors, sanitizing, and recognizing shelf order, safety features of all machinery, store evacuation plan, robbery policy, case temperatures, and storing regulations.

Qualifications

Education and / or Experience

High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Mathematical Skills

Performs mathematical skills using units of American money and weight measurement, and volume.

Meets the state minimum requirement to work baler and trash compactor.

Physical Demands & Safety Expectations

Most positions within Yoke’s require physical effort to varying degrees. As such, associates are expected to be mindful of practicing Yoke’s safety standards at all times.

This may include using personal protective equipment when and where required, understanding ergonomic safety, chemical hazards, safe lifting techniques, lockout / tag out procedures, and emergency protocol.

All associates are required to report accidents within 24 hours.
