Description
Summary :
The Surgical Technician-Certified assist the Registered Nurse in the delivery of patient care. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for administering direct patient care, treatments as ordered by the physician and administering medication as outlined by hospital policy and procedures.
Requirements :
A. Education / Skills
Hired before September 1, 2009 Graduation from an accredited school of Surgical Technology or at least one year of verified scrub tech experience.
Hired after September 1, 2009 Graduate from an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
B. Experience
Six months experience preferred
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- Hired before September 1, 2009 No certification required. CPR required. Hired after September 1, 2009 Must obtain certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting prior to 1st day of orientation.
- AHA CPR required.
