BAE Systems’ Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for an Associate Technical Director for the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line.

The Associate Technical Director will work closely with the PGSS Technical Director to ensure the technical needs of the product line are met for current and future programs.
This will be done by leveraging technology from across the business, identifying technology gaps and developing the strategy and plans to fill those gaps.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the PGSS Technical Director across both the Market Expansion and Franchise Programs portfolio.
In this role the Associate Technical Director will :
- Work with program teams to understand technical implementation and ensure they align with program objectives and customer needs.
- Work closely with teams executing internal research and development (IRAD) efforts, ensuring alignment to IRAD objectives, including technical and execution milestones.
- Support the development and maintenance of technology and product roadmaps to support the product line capture strategy.
- Support new business campaigns in the product line. This includes collaboration and CRAD capture within the business area as well as collaborating with BAE Systems technology development organization (FAST Labs) to capture and transition relevant technology.
- Help implement an intellectual property strategy and the product line IP portfolio, including reviewing IP disclosures and working with small businesses to obtain technology as applicable.
The successful candidate will have experience in program execution and capture, a willingness to work across a broad portfolio, and an interest in learning about and contributing technical direction across a diverse technology.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative / in-person an independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
This role will be staffed in Huntsville, AL, Hudson, NH or Cedar Rapids, IA. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics
- Current DoD Secret clearance
- Eight (8) years of experience in one or more of the following technical domains : RF / IR signal processing, electronics, navigation (GPS or Inertial), missile autopilots, modeling and simulation (for example 6-DOF), aerodynamics, missile related mechanical engineering (flight control systems, warheads, seeker gimbals, RF / IR seeker sub-systems);
- Four (4) years of systems engineering experience with exposure in one or more of the following domains : requirements analysis and development;
system performance analysis; integration and verification; and subsystem or system architecture development
- Past work experience interacting with multidisciplinary teams of system design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software and logistics engineers
- Experience developing concept solutions and identifying and tracking technical risks
- New Business strategy and business development experience including involvement in proposal effort
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Current DoD TS / SSBI clearance
- MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics
- Matlab and / or C++ experience
- Modeling and Simulation experience
- Experience with model-based systems engineering
- Missile and seeker performance analysis
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range : $127900 - $217400
Please note : This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to : business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
