Production Supervisor (2nd shift-4-day work week)
Aerospace 2ND SHIFT ROLE : 4 DAY WORK WEEK : HOURLY RATE : 35 / HR (OVERTIME MAY BE EXPECTED) REQUIRED SKILLS : CNC Okuma Lathe / Milling Machine Operator SkillsShop MathUse of precision measurement instrumentsAbility to read blueprints and drawingsPerform diversified duties to set-up and operate CNC Machine equipment.
Work from travelers, operation sheets, program printouts and instructions to set tools, install tools in tool changer, set-up and operate machine.
Make off-set entries on control panel. Dry run new programs. Manually input data into computer when necessary. Observe cutting tools for wear and proper cut, replace as necessary.
Load and unload parts in hydraulic or mechanical fixturing, exercising care to obtain proper seating on all loading surfaces.
Deburr and gage finished parts as required. Maintain accurate records of tool data and off-sets . Able to validate and run manufacturing production on a variety of CNC machines.
Able to assist Engineering in development of manufacturing processes. Assist in procurement of cutting tools. Able to customize tools as required by process.
Able to multi-task. Able to lead a team of CNC Operators. Able to inspect own work and that of their team and hold tight tolerances.
Capable of running CMM. Three years or more experience with Lathe / Milling equipment preferred. Able to configure / modify work as required by process.
Knowledge of Fanuc and Okuma controls, various hand gages, shadowgraphs and measuring equipment a must. Programming experience helpful.
Plan and perform a wide variety of very complex polishing and buffing activities to impart the desired finish within specified tolerances to partially or completely process blades within limits of standard and recognized procedures.
Work from gauge and operation number provided to obtain proper operation sheet dimensions from file. Follow specifications to polish and buff blades of a very complex configuration requiring the highest degree of skill to obtain desired result.
Train department employees to position requirements. Work to very close tolerances. Rework deviated blades to reclaim and avoid scrap.
Polish, blend and feather faces of foil to leading and trailing edge, buff and check chord, polish and blend base and radius.
Process any type of blade or other parts assigned. Gauge and check work frequently using all types of gauges and precision measuring instruments supplied.
At times, bench check blades processed by other departmental personnel. Perform the more difficult operations requiring special attention to form particular radius on rubber contact wheel.
Occasionally instruct or assist other polishers. Duties involve the use of a variety of gauges and precision measuring instruments.
Operate belt sander and other equipment related to the trade. Use various cutting compounds, grits, wheel dresser and cloth, or other polishing or grinding wheels.
Detect and report faulty operations, defective materials and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow prescribed and standard safety regulations. Work with vibratory equipment to achieve surface finish. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
