Claims and Clinical Strategy Lead

Our client, Suave Brands, is looking for a Claims and Clinical Strategy Lead to join their growing team. This can be a hybrid position in the Hackensack, NJ area or fully remote for the right candidate with periodic travel to Hackensack, NJ for meetings, etc.

Position Summary :

The Claims and Clinical Strategy Lead will be working on the pipeline of new innovation for both the Suave and Chapstick brands to ensure the products are competitive and compelling from a claims standpoint.

They will work on claims from all marketing materials and support any up-claim opportunities for the existing portfolio of products.

They will partner closely across SBC functions (e.g. marketing, R&D, Regulatory, Packaging) and with external testing laboratories, legal counsel, and the external network of suppliers.

In addition to a strong understanding of product claims, this role calls for both creativity and fluency in business acumen.

Primary Responsibilities Include the Following :

• Claims review, management of approval process
• Claims substantiations and technical memos
• Competitive claims landscaping
• Management of sample production for in-vivo and in-vitro studies
• Review of clinical and in-vitro testing reports

Required Qualifications Include the Following :

• 4 -10 years of proven experience with BS or equivalent, 2- 8 years of experience with MS preferably in consumer goods, cosmetics, or related field.
• Understanding of GxPs and FDA Compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, including spoken and written English.
• Ability to partner effectively across a diverse set of business partners and customers to deliver key results in a timely manner.
• Entrepreneurial; Business owner mentality, willing to be hands-on and contribute as one team.
• Critical thinking and comprehensive business acumen.

Preferred Qualifications Include the Following :

• Previous Regulatory experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with haircare claims substantiations is highly preferred.
• Understanding of formulation technology and cosmetic chemistry.
• Experience with claims substantiations for consumer products, such as skin care, skin cleansers, baby care and / or deodorant products is preferred.
• Experience in formulation / product / process development in the Cosmetic or Drug regulatory classifications.
