Primary Function :

Responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the ChristianaCare Information Security platform. Implements various tools, techniques and processes which continually enhance the automated management of Information Security operations, resources and processes.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Implement security engineering best practices for ChristianaCare's infrastructure and systems.
• Implement initiatives through the standard methodology from project approval to deployment.
• Implement new projects through project initiation, architecture, requirements analysis, design, project management and systems integration phases.
• Provide guidance and technical leadership on security engineering and design to information technology teams by referencing and enforcing standard methodologies and approaches commensurate with the security posture of ChristianaCare.
• Collaborate with business partners, key stakeholders, and internal departments to evaluate the current and future ChristianaCare information security and related technology capabilities and platforms.
• Provide technical guidance for the detection of incidents such as malware, virus, worms, phishing, social engineering, identity theft, DDoS, unauthorized access and advanced persistent threats.
• Provide technical guidance for remediation strategies to address information security-based vulnerabilities throughout the enterprise.
• Generate advanced security and compliance-based automation ideas which increase system performance and system availability, and which allow the company to be more efficient and effective, creating value.
• Identify and implement advanced ideas, techniques, interfaces, software and processes in order to continually create additional opportunities for the automation of Information Security systems operations and resources.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for continuing professional development to increase understanding of assigned areas, Information Security, computer technology and other relative areas.
• Install and maintain advanced systems used for the automated management of Security systems operations, resources and processes.
• Investigate and study new and developing technologies in order to determine their potential value and applicability within the Security infrastructure.
• Be self-motivated to learn and apply the internal workings of Security systems and how they can efficiently manage system resources, operations and processes across multiple platforms.
• Maintain good communications at all times while also providing technical assistance, support, training and guidelines for staff in the efficient and effective use of resources.
• Lead Information Security staff to identify, coordinate and implement all types of Information Security based initiatives.
• Provide in-depth level troubleshooting and advanced problem determination.
• Use both breadth and depth of technical knowledge to assist staff with the identification and resolution of difficult and complex technical problems.
• Assist management in conducting special studies intended to improve the level of security of information within ChristianaCare.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

• A Bachelor of Science degree in cyber security or equivalent work experience is required.
• Seven (7) years of applicable information security expertise. Health care experience preferred.
• Special Certification (one or more of the following) : Certified Information System Security Professional certification is preferred.

Examples include CISSP(ISC2), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), SANS-GIAC certifications, System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Certified Network Security Professional (CNSP).

• An equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience may be substituted.
• Should be functioning without close supervision immediately.
