Job Description

At Life Protect 24 / 7, you’ll focus on building, maintaining, and deploying applications on cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform to hundreds of computers throughout the world.

Our applications have a wide variety of uses from call center kiosks, company-wide chat, to an iPad time clock, with more exciting plans for the future! Our intentionally small development team means this role will have a significant impact on the direction and development of our company and applications.

Responsibilities

• Strategize, develop, and maintain web applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Solidify, document, and add to our robust RESTful API.
• Integrate with 3rd party RESTful API’s.
• Develop solutions to streamline and automate our build and deployment processes for existing and new applications.
• Help strengthen local development technology and practices within the team.
• Application version control and deployment to 500+ workstations on-site and remote
• Documentation of application processes and systems creation

Necessary Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience with PHP
• 3+ years of experience with Javascript
• 1+ years of experience deploying applications on cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, Azure.
• Strong knowledge of PHP fundamentals including OOP principles.
• Proficiency in open-source version control systems, i.e. Git,GitLab.
• BA in CS or a related field. Or if no degree, verified minimum 5 years of professional experience
• Proficiency and experience with high load environments and working at scale.
• You can clearly communicate your methods and expectations with the team.
• Autonomy and sense of responsibility are a must.
• Experience with Docker

• Experience with Laravel (PHP framework)
• Experience with Javascript frameworks (preferably React)
• Experience with Linux
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Understanding of PCI / DSS compliance on cloud systems
• An eye for good design
• An eager learner who is continuously keeping up with the latest trends in software development
