Summary :
The Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in managing various functions within the HR department and supporting the overall HR strategy.
This position involves administrative support for employees and as-needed assistance to the VP of Human Resources. This role will support all employees of the company located at various sites around the USA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of HR best practices, with excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information.
- Administer payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Prepare payroll reports.
- Manage recruitment efforts, including partnerships with colleges, universities, and veterans’ programs. Track candidate status and provide follow-up communication.
- Collaborate with the VP of Human Resources and legal team to develop, review, and enhance HR policies and guidelines.
- Oversee PEO vendors, addressing compliance matters for local and international PEO.
- Generate monthly reports to ensure HRIS system data accuracy.
- Support HR initiatives in performance management, employee relations, engagement, and talent development.
- Assist in resolving employee relations conflicts, conducting workplace investigations, and managing disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Coordinate employee training and development programs.
- Aid in onboarding processes as necessary.
- Supervise leave administration, including workers’ compensation, disability, FMLA, ADA requests, and documentation.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Assist with benefits and 401k administration, including open enrollment and inquiries.
- Conduct exit surveys and interviews with departing employees.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Compile and prepare data for statistical reporting and assist with metrics analysis.
Qualifications :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are required :
Education and Experience :
- 3-4 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Experience with HRIS systems such as TriNet, ADP, Paycom, UltiPro, or UKG.
- Knowledge of recruiting processes, including job ad publication and social media outreach.
- Experience in ensuring payroll accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all organizational levels.
- Project management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Preferred certifications from SHRM or HRCI.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
