THIS OPENING IS SET TO COVER THE GREATER BOZEMAN, MTAREA. JOB SUMMARY The District Sales Manager (DSM) role requiresexceptional management of sale performance among Sales Consultants(SCs).
This position is responsible for driving a performanceculture, coaching and developing the talent of their salesconsultants to achieve profitable planned case and GP growthRESPONSIBILITIES Manages the performance and development of SalesConsultants (MAs) within the district.
Engages in one-on-onecoaching and direction by conducting an average of 3-5 SCwork-withs a week. Effectively lead and facilitate Friday districtmeetings that educate, inspire and ultimately produce key behaviorchanges to drive sales.
Lead and direct Customer Engagement effortsby enabling the district SC to provide Sysco customers withexpanded service channel options ( Technology enablers, value addedservices, and team selling) Must possess a continuous improvementmentality around technology, sales skills, soft skills and productknowledge Leverages the Sales Support resources and tools tomaximize the consultative time of the SC Fully leverages our CRM inthe management of SC s sales planning, prospecting, and dailycustomer engagement and expects productive utilization of Sysco 360among all SC s.
Successfully delivers Sysco brand results anddirectly manages conversion opportunities within the district.Supports and promotes all national campaigns and promotionsAccountable for providing coaching, training, and timely feedbackto drive sales consultant development of consultative sellingskills of the sales associates (The Sysco Way to Sell).
Fullyutilizes the CMP and QPP Processes to coach the performance of allsales colleagues in the district. Responsible for execution ofterritory planning and management Prioritizes independentrelationships with top customers and high value prospects.
Champions company initiatives and implements center led strategywithin the district. Additional sales management responsibilitiesincluding, but are not limited to, other operational duties andcustomer relationship management.
QUALIFICATIONS Education HighSchool education required. Bachelor's degree in a related field(e.g. business administration) or equivalent relevant industryexperience.
Experience 2 or more years' experience successfullygrowing profitable sales in the foodservice industry. 5+ years'foodservice sales experience in the foodservice industry preferred.
Professional Skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability towork with a variety of stakeholders. Can derive insights fromothers through probing questions and collaborative problem-solving.
Superb organizational and project management skills, including theability to execute multiple initiatives autonomously. Able tothrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to use Sysco'sproprietary Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool forplanning and forecasting sales growth. Demonstrates mastery ofskills in the area of consultative selling, marketing principles,prospecting, networking, coaching, and negotiations.
Effectivelycoach, counsel, train and direct associates. Capable of supervisingand motivating others. Write reports and business correspondence.
Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimizelost business to achieve profitable sales growth and specialobjectives within assigned territory.
Seek and qualify prospectsunder company account stratification goals. Research customerbusiness needs and develops a mix of products and service to meetneeds.
Evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers,based on business needs and goals. Be informed of marketconditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices,and sales;
share information with customers as part of value-addedservices provided. Answer customers' questions about products,prices, availability, and product use.
Provide product informationand practical training to customer personnel. Communicate andcollect accounts receivable as necessary, working with the creditdepartment and client;
collect all balances due based on approvedcredit terms. Manage deliveries to the routing schedule publishedby the transportation department.
Troubleshoot any problems thatoccur during the order process (for example, out of stock items,special order items, low inventory, etc.
Participate in companyfunctions, promotions, customer visits, and customer events. Attendand participate in general sales and district meetings.
Review andanalyze daily and weekly reports such as special order requests,customer bid files, and sales / gross profit margin data.
Performadministrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports,maintaining sales records, processing credits, and pick-uprequests, preparing sales quotes and menu suggestions, and filingreports.
