The Opportunity
Adept Group is looking for a Senior Packaging Engineer in the Food industry! This role would provide packaging development for the leadership team and work across a variety of brands to supporting multipacks and digital commerce across multiple categories.
This is an ONSITE role that would require 5 days onsite in East Hanover, NJ.
Key Responsibilities
Packaging Development :
- Create and implement packaging specifications based on product requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct pilot and industrial trials to assess packaging performance and make necessary adjustments.
- Develop feasibility studies to evaluate the practicality and cost-effectiveness of packaging solutions for various projects.
Project Collaboration :
Actively participate in cross-functional teams, providing packaging expertise to ensure project timelines, risk mitigation, and status updates are accurate and aligned.
Specifications and Graphics :
Manage the approval process for packaging specifications and graphics, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Supplier Management :
Collaborate with suppliers to provide clear briefings for packaging development, request samples, and define die lines and specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Engineering (e.g. : Packaging, Chemical, Mechanical, Production) or Industrial Design
- Minimum 6 years packaging engineering experience, specifically in Food & Beverage or CPG.
- Technical depth on a packaging material, format, or process.
- Advanced understanding of the full packaging development and qualification process (or stage gate process).
- Advanced knowledge of resource planning for trials.
- Advanced understanding of project timeline development.
- Demonstrated effective communications (verbally and in writing) across internal and external teams.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time efficiently and effectively across multiple activities and tasks simultaneously.

Salary Range : $85,000 - $127,000
