SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES (RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Work with ROPs management to establish and plan husbandry and support activities
Provide staff oversight and scheduling for all support activities and take corrective action / coaching as necessary to ensure high standards
Create, review, and edit SOPs, WIs and other departmental procedures as needed
Train staff on associated procedures as defined in SOPs, WI, and company policies, maintain accurate and timely documentation, and ensure staff compliance
Serve as a strong, proactive leader who anticipates and solves problems, and inspires staff. Maintain regular staff 1 : 1 meetings to promote and manage staff performance and development and escalates matters to ROPs management as appropriate
Conduct regular staff meetings and provide minutes that summarize discussions in a timely manner
Allocate 50%+ of time to work within the core and serves as a staff resource
Provide coverage for daily operational tasks as needed to include weekends and holidays
Assist with preparations for internal quality audits and regulatory inspections
Assists with recruiting, hiring, performance management, and assignment of workloads Coordinate with ROPs management to ensure consistency across the department in terms of policy and regulatory compliance enforcement
Complete assigned projects and tasks independently with little to no supervision, and timely follow-up as appropriate
Provide primary oversight for the veterinary care and health monitoring programs and sample submission processes
Actively participate on the Rabbit Oversight Committee as requested
Utilize computer and paper based systems to accurately document and / or record information to assure compliance with applicable regulations, and company policies
Exhibit a firm understanding of the deviation procedures and change control system. Initiate and manage deviation and / or change control documentation as appropriate
