This role isessential in establishing and maintaining standards acrosstechnical documentation and creating instructional procedures toensure the continued production of quality products.
Position Overview :
The Draftsman / Technical Documentation Specialist will playa crucial role in reviewing and updating legacy prints and modelsestablishing file organization standards and creating andmaintaining manufacturing work instructions and standard operatingprocedures.
This position will collaborate closely with Engineeringand shop personnel to ensure technical documentation is accurateorganized and up to date.
Responsibilities :
- Reviewand update legacy prints and models to current company standards.
- Help establish and maintain fileorganization standards for prints and technical documentation.
- Create and maintain manufacturing workinstructions standard operating procedures and other jobrelateddocumentation with assistance from Engineering and shop personnel.
- Improve establish and maintain controlledprint procedures.
- Assist Engineering with thecreation and maintenance of manufacturing prints.
- Assist Engineering with the maintenance ofbills of materials.
- Create line art for productmanuals.
Education andExperience :
- Associatedegree in Drafting or equivalent experience in a manufacturingenvironment.
- Experience withdocument control procedures and software in a manufacturingenvironment.
- Experience in writing technicalinstructions.
- Knowledge of typicalmanufacturing processes including welding (manual and robotic)sheet metal fabrication assembly tolerances machining metal castingand coatings.
Skills :
- Proficientwith SolidWorks and 3D solid modelingtechniques.
- Familiar with 2D CADsoftware such as AutoCAD orDraftSight.
- Familiar with the use of PDMsoftware.
- Strong technical writingskills.
- Detailoriented with strongorganizational skills.
- Excellent communicationskills.
