The is responsible for the preparation of state tax filings for assigned entities. The role is also responsible for state tax accruals, coordinating and responding to tax controversy matters, including state tax examinations and notice responses, assisting with insurance tax, and documenting significant tax positions.

The role will require coordination and communication with other departments across the business.

What you will do :

  • Prepare quarterly and annual state income / franchise tax filings
  • Assist with quarterly premium tax estimates and annual premium tax return calculations and payments
  • Manage indirect tax calculations and related tax filings
  • Prepare premium tax accruals and assist with review of income tax accruals
  • Analyze data throughout the preparation and / or review processes
  • Assist with state tax examination and notice responses, including tracking, response research, coordination, and formulation
  • Document significant tax positions and prepare workpapers supporting tax filings and income tax accruals
  • Participate in budgeting process and preparation of tax related financial projections
  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments across the business and with state auditors and service providers
  • Manage and track tax payments and refunds
  • Ad hoc tax research and documentation
  • Special projects, administrative functions related to the above responsibilities, and all other duties as assigned

What you will bring :

  • Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in Accounting and / or Master in Taxation
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, preferred
  • Two years of tax return compliance
  • At least one year of experience in accounting for income taxes (either IFRS or US GAAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)

Base Salary Range

$72,900.00 - $102,900.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program.

Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance.

Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and / or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
