LHH is ramping up a search for a Quality Engineer in the Metro Detroit area. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that our products and services meet the established standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
This role requires a strong background in quality assurance principles, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and methodologies to ensure product quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct quality audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products to identify non-conformities and areas for improvement.
Analyze data from quality tests and inspections to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process optimization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Lead and participate in quality improvement projects, such as Six Sigma initiatives and lean manufacturing practices, to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain documentation related to quality standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements (, ISO standards, FDA regulations).
Conduct supplier quality assessments and audits to ensure compliance with specifications and performance requirements.
Provide training and support to production personnel on quality procedures, standards, and tools.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in quality management systems (QMS) to drive continuous improvement and best practices.
Prepare and present quality reports and metrics to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
Proven experience (3+ years) in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing or regulated industry (, medical devices, automotive, aerospace).
Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (, DMAIC, FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis).
Experience with quality standards and regulations (, ISO 9001, AS9100, FDA QSR).
Proficiency in quality management software and tools (, Minitab, Quality Management Systems).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels of the organization.
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
