Miller Mechanical - HR Generalist
Miller Mechanical Specialties Inc., a manufacturer's representative partner company of Endress+Hauser Inc., is looking for a HR Generalist to join their team in Des Moines, IA.
Role + Responsibilities
- Develop and drive the learning strategy to meet the future needs of the organization - establishing development plans, talent readiness plans, and performance plans.
- Leverages connections within the local and regional business and the broader organization to determine how to address complex people issues.
Partners with various stakeholder groups (CoE, HR leadership, executive leadership) to drive successful human capital practices.
- Continuous collaboration to develop high performing teams : Provides guidance and input on workforce planning, performance management and succession planning (development, training, and coaching) in order to ensure a preeminent customer experience.
- Partner with key stakeholders to foster a challenging and supportive environment that maximizes employee engagement (improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention).
- Leads and / or facilitates various team development and talent planning discussions with respective business units.
- Translates business strategies into people related actions and initiatives.
- Advise managers in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Lead the awareness of policies, procedures, and programs and their effect on employee engagement and retention.
- Conduct termination meetings with Manager and administer exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations and opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as front line resource for responding to and solving employee concerns and providing coaching :
- Evaluate MMS vendor partners and make recommendations on improvements as necessary.
- Review policies, procedures, and work practices and develop recommendations to drive efficiency gains.
- Partner with internal customers to improve the capability of the human resources department to respond to their needs.
- Prepare and maintain employee handbook, ensuring compliance and updating as needed.
- Update and manage organizational charts.
Qualification + Profile
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Psychology or other related field. Or a combination of education and HR experience that demonstrates higher level decision making based on judgment, education, and experience.
- Participates in HR related member-based networking groups
- Attends HR related seminars and conferences
- Human Resources Generalist in a fast paced national or global firm, or
- Human Resources Specialist in a particular area (e.g. benefits, payroll, etc.)
- Travel is required : 10-15%
