Our Client is seeking a Insurance Collections Specialist .
Earn an hourly rate at this full-time position. Work Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM.
Job Description :
- Ensure timely follow-up on assigned accounts using AR reports and account maintenance activities to facilitate the prompt collection of outstanding balances
- Utilize available resources to resolve claims effectively
- Review medical record documentation and understand the documentation needed to overturn denials issued by insurance companies
- Use compendia resources to assist in medical necessity appeals
- Assist in the training of new collections specialists
Job Requirements :
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 3 to 5 years of collections, billing, and appeals experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Completion of an accredited Certified Coding Specialist program preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, explanation of benefits, and insurance verification applications
- Knowledge and understanding of ICD-10, CPT-4, and associated modifiers
- Understanding of the different levels in the appeals process to optimize recovery efforts
- Understanding of the components of the FDA Label
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solver with attention to detail
