Senior Manager, Marketing and Events

The Senior Manager, Marketing and Events is responsible for the effective marketing and implementation of IFT events with a special emphasis on increasing attendance at IFT's annual event and tradeshow.
This role requires the ability to lead and implement the development of event marketing strategies informed by business priorities, audience insights, message positioning, and channel usage.
Through creative thinking, strong written and oral communication skills, and a commitment to excellence, the Senior Manager, Marketing and Events will support organizational goals by identifying trends and utilizing data to support various retention efforts for IFT's annual event.
Essential Functions
- Develops and implements comprehensive integrated marketing and event strategies aligned with IFT's goals and objectives.
- Identifies appropriate audiences to attract while serving as the expert for attracting target audiences with the ability to understand the competitive landscape.
- Translates marketing objectives into data-driven integrated campaigns that achieve IFT's marketing and business goals.
- Manages all facets of IFT's participation in non-IFT trade shows, including booth reservation, payment, participant, and hotel registration.
- Supports the development of marketing collateral, including promotional materials and content for digital and traditional marketing channels for IFT's annual event and other events.
- Ensures brand consistency across all marketing materials and communications.
- Utilizes data analytics and metrics to assess the success of marketing campaigns and events including the analysis of audience registration patterns that will support making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Engages with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, exhibitors, and executives to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into future marketing and event strategies.
- Manages, oversees, and recommends budgets for marketing event initiatives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocations.
- Collaborates with the Senior Director, Integrated Marketing & Brand Strategy and the Vice President, Meetings & Exhibit Experiences on multiple projects throughout the year in preparation for IFT's annual event and tradeshow.
Travel Required
Occasional domestic travel is expected including the ability to attend occasional evening, weekend, and overnight meetings.
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience promoting large events and / or tradeshows.
- 3+ years of experience in managing the marketing for several events occurring during various cycles.
- 3+ years of experience utilizing analytical tools (i.e. Google Analytics).
- 3+ years of experience executing digital marketing strategies, including email marketing, social, retargeting / lookalike campaigns, and online advertising.
- 3+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with a food, education, or scientific association / organization.
- Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) designation.
