The Job :
The Marketing Events Coordinator will support the coordination and implementation of public events, including the Museum's Tree Lighting & Cultural Festival and Naughty or Nice holiday events.
This is a temporary, part-time position taking place onsite at the Museum.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with and schedule cultural performers, programming partners and vendors.
- Develop, plan and train on holiday activities and crafts.
- Set up and take down for at least two holiday events.
- Support the Sr. Director, Business Development in the show running of Tree Lighting & Cultural Festival and Naughty or Nice events.
- Attend and support tech rehearsals and dress rehearsals.
- Respond to radio calls, check in on vendors and coordinate with multiple partners before and during events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- One (1) to two (2) years of events and / or programming project management experience.
- Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Proven and successful project manager in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under occasional pressure while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
- Must possess expert-level written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Must be proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and possess the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
- Language :
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
- Mathematical :
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as basic math, percentages, etc.
- Reasoning :
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
- Physical :
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
- The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work Environment :
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
