Our opportunity
- Our Districts are looking for Surgery Registrars.
- Surgery Registrars can work at Wellington, Kenepuru and Hutt Hospitals.
- Applicants in New Zealand must honour the notice period required by their current District (usually 3 months but there can be discretion).
- The Wellington Region RMO positions are rotational across multiple hospitals, including Wellington Regional, Kenepuru, Hutt Valley and Masterton Hospitals which means that you may rotate to these sites during your time with us.
If you are successful in gaining a position, the service will do their best to accommodate the run preferences stated within your cover letter and speciality ranking in the application.
The Wellington Region offers Runs in General Surgery; Vascular; Paediatric Surgery, Cardiothoracic; Neurosurgery; Urology;
Otolaryngology; Orthopaedics; Plastics. General Surgery covers Colorectal, Endocrine, Breast and Upper-Gastrointestinal surgery.
Vascular includes endovascular work and kidney transplants.
RMO salaries are calculated based on relevant previous years of experience and the average weekly hours of work as set out in the relevant run description.

Experience and Eligibility
Suitable for Resident Medical Officers who will be PGY3 / F3 or above by the role commencement date
