This role will support CAE development activities for full vehicle and complex vehicle system-level CAE model construction, visualization, and analysis to perform thermal and fluid dynamics simulation (CFD) for Automotive HVAC performance and Cabin Comfort evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Utilize ANSA / Hypermesh for Construction of high-quality FE meshes and models of full vehicle and / or vehicle sub-systems.
- Conducting and analyzing full vehicle CFD (thermal and fluid dynamics) simulation models for HVAC Performance and Cabin Comfort evaluations using 1D Tools (ex.
GT suite or Siemens Amesim) and 3D Tools (ex. : Star CCM+, Openfoam, Fluent)
- Interpret data, develop and report countermeasures using Metapost / Hyperworks for post-processing.
- Must be able to optimize and correlate analyses with real-world test results.
- Communicates effectively within the group about issues, and outside the group to accomplish goals.
- Analyze and resolve problems with moderate level of guidance and direction.
- Lead research activities to develop new and improve existing CAE methods.
- Utilizes Excel to create and update project schedules.
- Travel to client site required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10+ years relevant exp. or Master’s degree in Engineering and 8+ years relevant exp.
- Education with the following specialties preferred : Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive.
- Experience in Automotive HVAC performance and Cabin Comfort evaluation using CFD simulation
- 8+ years of experience using 1D & 3D system simulation software ex. 1D tools (GT suite or Siemens Amesim) & 3D tools (Star CCM+, Openfoam, Fluent).
- Experience in developing custom CAE methods for improved modeling and analysis
- Experience using pre-processor (ANSA / Hypermesh), post-processor (Metapost / Hyperworks) for full vehicle and / or vehicle sub-systems CAE model construction, visualization, and analysis.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including excel.
