ROLE : FOX 5 San Diego / KUSI News duopoly is seeking a Weekday Reporter / Weekend Weather Anchor to support our top-rated newscasts committed to serving the San Diego community.
Successful candidate excels in ad-libbing, storytelling on all platforms, connecting with viewers, can receive feedback and models professionalism on and off the air.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Accurate reporting of news stories
- Attend editorial meetings and regularly pitch original story ideas
- Develops community contacts and a network of news sources
- Must be able to ad-lib live breaking news by telling a compelling story with a strong ability to interact with anchors in studio
- Works with the photographer in the development of a story
- Regularly updates newsroom on story elements and progress
- Use social media to update news and weather stories to the public
- Attend station partnerships in the community
- Produce and anchor weather, traffic segments for weekend newscasts and fill-in during the week as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Must have undergraduate degree or equivalent related experience
- Prefer 3-5 years TV news reporting and weather anchor experience in a medium to large market
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must interact positively and productively with other employees and in the field
- Strong on-air presentation must be credible, personable and passionate
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to accept constructive direction and feedback
- In line with reporting duties, individual must be flexible with schedule and be willing to work additional hours or days or different shifts as required by news content
- Knowledge of WSI, Baron or similar weather forecasting system
- Comp starting $33 / hr commensurate with experience and skill level
