The Senior Compensation Specialist will be responsible for supporting the alignment of Compensation programs with business objectives that support organizational strategies.

The Compensation Specialist will be responsible for supporting the delivery of compensation programs in close collaboration with Senior Management.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Provides advisory services to departments on all compensation matters and assists with the planning, designing and implementation of compensation programs;

including structure, design, market forecasting and large-scale job and / or salary changes based on job markets, organization or division business models.

  • Assesses the most complex compensation matters; develops recommendations to address complex compensation issues, assists departments and coach HR managers with implementing recommendations.
  • Develops tools to track, analyze and report on a range of compensation metrics and trends, providing actionable insights for executive decision-making.
  • Extensive experience with compensation, job classification and job architecture.
  • Prior experience working with multi-union and non-union understanding salary schedules and different grades for salary assessment.
  • Leads departments in determining whether new jobs and / or revisions to existing jobs are warranted; develops job descriptions and collaborates with managers and supervisors to accurately document jobs.
  • Conducts research on Best Practices in compensation to develop new or support existing compensation initiatives based on analysis of current programs.
  • Serves as the project lead on compensation and compensation-related matters and assists in the annual compensation review process utilizing data analysis to provide recommendations for optimizing salary structures promoting internal equity and addressing market fluctuations.
  • Guides management on the application of salary administration policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and provides compensation training on various compensation topics such as conducting salary equity reviews and other compensation-related training.
  • Evaluates jobs for Fair Labor Standards Act classification and EEO classification.
  • Performs desk audits as necessary to assure that employees are assigned to the proper jobs.
  • Provides advisory services to Senior Executive Team, Directors and managers regarding compensation matters; Provides recommendations to resolve the most complex compensation issues;

assists with implementing recommendations.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Management or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in compensation, job documentation, job evaluation and performance management, creating organizational charts and organization design.
  • Advanced Excel experience to create spreadsheets for reporting.
  • Creativity in providing innovative approaches to pay and performance.
  • Skill in communicating orally and in writing.
  • Ability to relate to employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to extract and manipulate data from HRIS.
  • Ability to work extended hours.
  • Utilizes personal computer and maintains intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable software programs (i.e. Word, Excel, email, etc.)
