Duties / Responsibilities
1. Collaborate, develop, and execute buying strategies, identifying target markets and aligning with Company sales goals while managing the eCommerce buying team.
2. Select and source products from suppliers or manufacturers that align with our target market, pricing strategy, and overall business objectives.
3. Manage the product life cycle from procurement to sales by researching and sourcing new products to expand our online catalog and meet evolving customer needs.
4. Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential suppliers, negotiating contract terms to procure quality products cost-effectively.
5. Research, analyze, and forecast current and future buying trends, markets, and products, focusing on specified target markets and demographics to make informed buying and merchandising decisions.
6. Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive market edge.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including marketing, sales, product development, and customer service) to ensure cohesive brand messaging and strategy implementation.
8. Support the marketing team with developing promotional strategies for new products.
9. Optimize our online sales channels to ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers.
10. Coordinate with the content team to ensure the accuracy of product listings with an appealing presentation on the website.
11. Contribute to creating and distributing engaging content across digital platforms, such as social media, email marketing, and our website, to drive brand awareness and customer engagement.
12. Monitor and analyze eCommerce metrics, including web traffic, conversion rates, and sales data, to identify areas for improvement and measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies.
13. Travel to market and / or trade shows to represent the company.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or relevant years of experience
2. 3+ years of experience in eCommerce buying and merchandising for a retail company selling via DTC.
3. Strong analytical skills (Advanced Excel) with experience in using data analytics software.
4. Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
5. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magneto, etc., and / or online retailers in developing digital marketing strategies.
6. Creative thinker with a customer-first, brand management mindset, and strong problem-solving abilities.
7. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
8. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
9. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with keen attention to detail and deadlines.
10. Experience dealing with an en extensive number of vendors and has bought in several categories sold within their brand.
