About the role.
The Collections Product Specialist will assist in the support and maintenance of the fine art, jewelry, and collectibles product line, contributing to the growth and profitability of this specialized business segment.
This role supports the product team nationally and can be based in any of our offices, with a preference for New York and Chicago, though remote work will be considered.
Strong candidates will be naturally curious with a solid understanding of personal lines insurance and at least moderate knowledge of high-value collectibles insurance.
This individual will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills along with proficient written and verbal communication. This role reports to the VP of Fine Art Underwriting and will work closely with several business units across the organization, along with external broker and vendor partners.
What You'll Do.
- Support the development of comprehensive product initiatives for fine art, jewelry, and collectibles, which drive growth and increase our competitiveness in the market.
- Assist in the development and implementation of product strategies through analysis of production metrics, loss data, actuarial indications, competitive positions, underwriting / marketing initiatives, and industry intelligence.
- Support the development and implementation of product enhancements to improve performance, including internal coordination, state filing, and systems implementation.
- Assist in filing and implementing changes for existing endorsements and new products related to fine art, jewelry, and collectibles.
- Provide accurate and timely analytical support on assigned projects.
- Extract, analyze, and organize query data to develop and support recommended product changes.
- Monitor legislative changes related to high-value collectibles insurance and recommend any coverage impact of those changes.
- Proactively explore new metrics and analytical approaches to improve performance measurement.
- Maintain current knowledge of competitor actions, industry developments, and client needs to drive coverage innovation to meet the needs of our target market.
What We're Looking For.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2-3 years relevant work experience, preferably in a product or underwriting role.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- High degree of personal organization and time management skills, plus the ability to work autonomously and in a self-directed manner, managing multiple ongoing projects.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Experience using Excel, SQL, and other data analysis tools.
- Eagerness to develop new skills and enhance expertise.
- An interest in the art, jewelry, and collectibles world is nice to have but not required.
The base salary for this role can range from $65k-$85k, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
