Overview

Job Summary

The Certified Project Manager (CPM) is responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities on assigned projects and leading the delivery of business improvement processes.

This includes managing projects that include multiple deliverables and workstreams, large project teams, and numerous points of interface across the organization.

The CPM establishes project processes and templates, ensures timely delivery of work products, adheres to the project budget, provides clear communication about the status of the work, and maintains adherence to the project scope.

This position collaborates with various team leads and stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Work Performed and Job Requirements

  • Provides project management support for large and complex projects :
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on the project schedule, deliverable deadlines, and ensures timely delivery of all work products.
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on the project's costs, ensuring completion of all work on budget.
  • Reviews invoices timely for processing.
  • Manages assigned agreements and communicates with relevant subcontractors as applicable.
  • Communicates project risks, budgeted hours, and burn rates to internal staff and relevant subcontractors.
  • Ensures contract budgets are not exceeded and provides timely budget projections.
  • Assesses quality of work products and documents.
  • Undertakes short-term or long-term projects to address a variety of issues and needs.
  • Communicates with clients and / or vendors to understand requirements and priorities, ensure satisfaction with deliverables, understand status update method and frequency preferences, and address any concerns or modifications of scope during the course of the project
  • Provides regular status updates in agreed-upon formats.
  • To address invoices, billing, budget, teams, and other critical elements in the work.
  • Gathers and organizes information about the issue to be solved or the procedure to be improved.
  • Onboards colleagues onto new projects :
  • Provides clear expectations and information about the project.
  • Identifies skill gaps on the team and works with relevant project leadership to seek additional personnel to execute project tasks.
  • Provides advice, implementation plans, and / or suggestions for improvement according to project objectives.
  • Meets billable hour targets when applicable.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education / Training

Minimum of a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and a bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

Lean Six Sigma certification or health care knowledge is preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of relevant project management experience required.

Computer, printer, copier, scanner, fax, telephone, web conferencing.

Working Conditions

Work is sedentary in nature and performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times.

Physical / Mental Demands

Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, climbing, and bending to files and supplies; mobility to complete errands;

stand / sit for up to eight hours each day; ability to communicate clearly when using the telephone; requires sitting; standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and twisting at times; moderate levels of stress.
