Summary
This is highly technical work involving technical oversight of Biomedical Equipment Technicians (I and IIs). Also has responsibility for repairing, testing, modifying, installing, fabricating and maintaining a variety of diagnostic, therapeutic and analytic biomedical equipment and systems and associated computers, workstations, and networks and electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
Confers with various hospital staff and clarifies the nature of equipment and system problems. Assess that parts, equipment and personnel required to perform installations and resolve problems are utilized effectively, efficiently, and in a cost effective manner.
Sets a positive example to create and maintain excellent inter / intra departmental relations and relationships with device manufacturers, distributors, and Service organizations.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education : Knowledge of operation, repair, calibration, installation and system design of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and systems and associated computers, workstations and networks as normally obtained through the completion of an Associate Degree in Biomedical Electronics Technology and five or more years of directly experience.
Other equivalent combination of education and experience shall be considered.

- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for approximately eighty percent of work time when preparing and performing work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate and work effectively with technical staff and user departments to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and departments throughout the institution and with manufacturers, vendors and other service organizations.
The ability to express thoughts clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
