Job Summary

Monday - Friday 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM

As a Manual Machinist at Group CBS, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing and production of precision parts. Your expertise in operating and setting up manual machine tools, including lathes and milling machines, will ensure high-quality components used in various industries.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional who excels in problem-solving, teamwork, and precision work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Set up and operate manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce precision parts.
  • Monitor machine operations, adjusting speed, feed, and depth of cuts as necessary.
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, and gauges) to ensure that machined parts meet exact specifications.
  • Select appropriate materials, tools, and fixtures for each job.
  • Perform routine maintenance and ensure machines are in proper working condition.
  • Troubleshoot and address machine issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve machining processes and overall production efficiency.
  • Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Experience with soldering and welding is not required but is a plus.
  • Potential travel may be required based on project needs.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proven experience operating manual machine tools.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machinery.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational training or certification in machining is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequent walking and standing for extended periods.
  • Continuous repetitive hand motion.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and continuous lifting of up to 15 pounds.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
