The Performance Improvement Coordinator is responsible for the facilitation of performance improvement and quality assurance activities for behavioral health services within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science.

The PI Coordinator will partner with departmental leaders to define performance metrics, develop action plans, educate staff on quality and performance initiatives, and monitor progress.

The PI Coordinator will also complete regular chart reviews to examine the flow of patients through all behavioral health services including inpatient and outpatient clinical areas to ensure adequate care is rendered throughout a patient's length of stay.

The ideal candidate will document any discrepancies with care and communicate with the specific area liaisons to close the loop on any issues.

The PI Coordinator also works in collaboration with the Quality Manager to assist with any patient-related incident reviews and investigations.

The PI Coordinator will partner with the departmental Nurse Educator and assist with educational interventions designed to improve the delivery of quality care.

The PI Coordinator will perform PI / QA activities as required by OMH, OASAS, OPWDD, and other regulatory bodies.

Required Experience :

Advanced knowledge and experience in behavioral health treatment and knowledge of performance improvement processes and models is required.

1-3 years quality experience preferred

Certification / Licensure :

NYS RN License required

Education Requirements :

Bachelor's degree required. Masters preferred.

Certification in psychiatric-mental health nursing (PMH-BC) or Certificated Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.

Salary Range : $90,000 - $100,000
