Summary :

The Application System Analyst II serves as a liaisonbetween system end-users (customers), operational leaders,additional support resources and vendors to design, build andoptimize their assigned applications in a timely and high-qualitymanner.

The Systems Analyst II will provide application support andoptimization. They work closely with the Service Desk to assist inresponding to service requests.

The Application System Analyst IImust be able to analyze business issues / requirements and workflowsand apply their application knowledge to meet operational andorganizational needs.

Project implementation responsibilitiesinclude collaborating with customers contributing to the analysis,testing, and documentation and implementation of medium to highcomplexity activities of assigned software.

This position mustpossess sufficient detailed healthcare knowledge and systemsexpertise to implement medium to high complexity assignedapplication with minimal guidance.

The Associate must be aself-motivated individual with exceptional communication andinterpersonal skills and the ability to work well in teamenvironments.

  • Analyze,develop, test, document, educate, implement, support, and maintainor optimize assigned applications, solutions and business processesto meet operational and technicalrequirements.
  • Collaborates across projectborders with other teams. Thinks outside the box and proposespractical solutions to issues.

Provides oversight and projectmanagement to assigned tasks.

Demonstrates asolid / working level of subject matter expertise in providingsupport to projects, customers, and other teams, while proactivelyworking to improve and obtain new expertise in application / systemin assigned areas.

Utilizes application training, application website and application resource materials regularly and effectivelyand is able guide newer team members in utilizing theseresources.

Thorough knowledge andunderstanding of operations, can proactively identify opportunitiesto enhance customer usability, efficiency and / or experience.

Represents user needs and expectations in larger, more complexsystem updates and enhancements. Provides clear and organizedstatus reporting on key project areas to be used as externalcommunications to stakeholders.

Performsworking level process and requirement analysis, including processmapping though current flow charts, documents, future needs / plans,requirement elicitation, stakeholder analysis, and specificationgathering to deliver cross team solutions.

Responsible forcompleting working level gap analysis, and providingrecommendations.

Able to clearly articulatecomplex design, configuration issues to end users and projectstakeholders. Maintains relationship with end user leadershippost-engagement.

Proactively addresses end userconflicts.

Contributes to strategy discussionsby identifying options with associated pros and cons with teammembers. Facilitates making timely decisions;

makes sound decisionseven in the absence of complete information. Recognizes when aquick 80% resolution will suffice.

  • Adhere toorganization standards for system configuration and changecontrol.
  • Strong technical proficiency inapplication-specific design and configuration. Ability to clearlyarticulate and communicate core design, configuration concepts toend users.

Able to independently analyze, design, and configure theapplication. Able to teach design, configuration concepts to newteam members.

  • Collaborate and develop strongrelationships with end user communities, customers and businesspartners.
  • Collaborate with Operational Leadersto focus on standardized best practice workflow processes andcontent to ensure alignment across all ministries, to createefficiencies, and to ensure optimal operationalprocesses.
  • Coordinates code changes withappropriate vendor related to financial and business applicationissues.
  • Collaborates with Technical Team toidentify and infrastructure related issues that have resulted inapplication issues.
  • Share industry bestpractices from vendors with OperationalLeaders.
  • Demonstrates increasing technicalknowledge of the assigned application including relationships ofinfrastructure and impact to user ifunavailable.
  • Serves as a liaison betweenbusiness operations and providers, internal information technology,system users and vendors working within the defined projectobjectives for issue and problem resolution.
  • Follows strict change management processes ensuring properapproval, testing, and validation of systemchanges.
  • Written documentation delivered toend users and leadership shows consistency and attentive review. Isa team player and able to proactively communicate issues andconcepts to project leadership.
  • Associateperiodically reviews and auto-corrects his / her skills, habits, workethic, and behaviors and manages his / her work in an effective andagreeable way among peers.

Associate is sensitive and aware of howothers perceive them and take care to ensure smooth and effectiveworking relationships and environments.

  • Proactively and independently troubleshoot and resolve moderateincidents and requests without direction.
  • Maintains high standards for quality of work for self and others.Provides oversight and feedback on team member design,configuration and deliverables.
  • Manages mediumcomplexity projects / requests. Collaborates with team members asneeded. Proactively evaluates all new release and functionality ofapplications.
  • Complete in a timely mannerassigned courses within Healthstream, other electronic trackingtools for educational related material or attend presentations inperson as assigned.
  • Ensure the services thathe / she provides contribute to the successful accomplishment of theprimary mission of the department.
  • Escalateswhen SLAs are breached or appropriate vendor action is notoccurring.
  • May be required to travel toperform duties.
  • May be required to workadditional hours as needed during criticalproblems.
  • Assist in preparation and conductingof continuing formal or informal training session for users andco-workers.
  • Identifies and seizes newopportunities, displays can-do attitude in good and bad times andsteps up to handle tough issues.
  • Performsother duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred witha focus in healthcare, business, or informationsystems.
  • Ability to present complex data inmeaningful method, i. e., charts,graphs

  • 3+ Yearsof experience
  • 2+ years within healthcare,business, or information systems
  • Solvesmoderate incidents without direction
  • Developsnew functionality for requests with littledirection
  • Works in a team setting, sharinginformation and assisting other junior level teammembers
  • Possesses detailed healthcare knowledgeand systems expertise
  • Makes decisions regardingown work on primarily routine cases
  • Works underminimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysisof variable factors
  • Collaborates with seniorteam members to develop approaches andsolutions
  • Mentors and may train team memberswithin own functional or application
  • Associatedcertifications on area of focus, preferred

For Epic Analysts :

  • Certified or proficient inassigned Epic module (must be obtained within 6 months ofemployment date)
  • Certifications orProficiencies must stay current by maintaining new versiontraining
