As an Activity Specialist , you play an essential role in the planning and provision of high-quality services for children with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities.
You will be responsible for developing activities and lessons using curriculum and components that support the growth and development of the children in areas such as social / emotional, self-help, language, interpersonal, fitness, safety, recreation, and cultural arts.

What does an Activity Specialist Do?
- Develop daily activity schedules and lesson plans for classrooms including fitness, nutrition, education, social-emotional learning, academics, cultural art and enrichment activity, leisure / recreation activity, snacks / mealtimes, and music therapy.
- Provide lessons, materials, information, training, and oversight to counselors to ensure that they are well prepared to implement all activities.
- Effectively coordinate and participate in in-service training by orienting new team members, arranging for team members to attend training sessions and supporting on-going employee development;
provide training and monitoring of curricula and other components to ensure consistency and accuracy of implementation; provide initial and ongoing training and support for counselors.
Required Qualification / Skills :
- High School Diploma / GED
- 2 years of experience including working with individuals who have developmental disabilities and co-occurring behavior disorders and implementing activities and behavior plans.
- Valid FL driver’s license
Pay Rate : $20.56 / hour
