Capital One is looking for a Sr Manager, Compensation to join our Total Rewards team supporting our Call Center and Card Services population (7,500+ front line employees).
The primary focus of this role is to be the advisor to our HRBP and Executives within the Channels and Card Services organizations on all compensation matters including focal cycle management, retention, special projects, and pay program design.
This role will also play a key leadership role across our Compensation function and across the enterprise in driving consistency on pay program design for our non-exempt workforce.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design, deliver, and manage compensation programs for assigned client groups
Work with internal partners (e.g., HR Consultants, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Enterprise Risk) and client group on firm wide programs and / or processes (e.
g., regulated staff classification, pay program changes), including conducting in-depth analyses and modeling in support of total compensation scenarios
Lead mid-year and year-end compensation cycles for assigned client groups, ensuring smooth execution and managing within internal and external controls
Collaborate with recruiters to develop competitive offer packages for external hires
Exhibit thoughtful leadership within the team and compensation community
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 5 years of experience in Compensation or at least 5 years of experience in Finance or at least 5 years of experience in Analytics, or a combination
At least 5 years of experience in client management or consulting
At least 3 years of experience with Excel and developing data-based stories in Powerpoint or Slides
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Human Resources
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
7+ years of experience in Compensation or 7+ years of experience in Finance or 7+ years of experience in Analytics, or a combination
5+ years of experience in client facing or consulting roles
5+ years of experience building compensation models and conducting pay analysis
1+ year of experience with Workday
Advanced excel skills (e.g., VBA, macros, array functions)
Knowledge of human resources and compensation including knowledge of relevant Federal, State, Local laws / regulations relating to compensation
Experience with benchmarking tools (MarketPay) or reporting tools (Tableau, Business Objects)
